Data Collections and Gateways on Wrangler
Chris Jordan, Texas Advanced Computing Center

TACCâs Wrangler system represents a novel architecture with several non-traditional aspects, including hardware, software, and support models which are new to the XSEDE ecosystem. In this talk, we will introduce the data management features of Wrangler along with a brief overview of persistent service support, with a focus on the use of these mechanisms to develop research data collections and to publish these collections in existing or new web-based âgateways. The iRODS data grid software and supported open-source databases, including Postgres and MySQL/MariaDB will be briefly discussed, and the mechanisms for provisioning and managing these services at the user level will be described. Wrangler-specific iRODS features such as audit trails, ingest verification, and data publication will be presented as potential components in larger infrastructures to allow the wider research community to query, retrieve, and analyze data sets created and/or curated by XSEDE users and projects.Â

Thanksâ

Marlon
